With an Indian passport, you can travel to 62 countries without a visa. First and foremost is the United Arab Emirates, which is the cheapest in terms of acquisition costs and visa-free access to other countries.

The research was conducted by the Australian company Compare the Markets AU. They studied how much it costs to get a passport from different countries, how much it costs per year, and how many countries you can visit without a visa.

A study found that Mexico has the most expensive passport, costing $231.05 for 10 years. While an Australian passport was slightly cheaper, it cost $225.78 for the same 10-year period.

According to a company statement, the Indian passport is the second cheapest available, priced at $18.07, and valid for 10 years. Meanwhile, the UAE passport costs US$17.70 for 5 years and replaced the cheapest passport previously.

If we look at the annual cost, a Passport in India is the cheapest at $1.81 per year. South Africa was in second place with spending of about US$3.05 per year, followed by Kenya in third place with spending of about US$3.09 per year.

Compared to passports from other countries, Indian passports can save money, but many places cannot be reached without a visa. This is different from countries like Australia, USA, and Canada. Although their passports give you more freedom to travel, they are also more expensive.

As we know, travel insurance is essential to protect your passport from loss, theft, or damage while abroad. Adrian Taylor, head of insurance at Compare the Market, emphasizes the importance of being protected in case of unexpected events while traveling.
