About the series ‘Dil Dosti Dilemma’

Based on the young novel ‘Asmara’s Summer’ by Andaleeb Wajid, Dil Dosti’s Dilemma focuses on a young teenager who is sent to live with her grandfather as punishment for missing a long-awaited vacation in Canada. Now that changes when Asmara (Anushka Sen) spends some time in the place where her mother grew up. However, family events are expanding to include friends, neighbors, parents, and grandparents. The Amazon Prime video series will appeal to a large portion of the audience because it will be lightweight and the so-called dilemma will be easily resolved.

Dil Dosti Dilemma: Plot

Asmara, a young girl from Bangalore, has her dreams shattered when she is kicked out of a family trip to Canada after a transgression against her grandmother. For the summer, she’s banished to his grandparents’ house on Tibbri Road, a much more grounded area than she’s used to. Lying to her best friends Naina (Revathi Pillai) and Tania (Elisha Mayor), Asmara has to live without incident, living in the same house with her Nani (Tanvi Azmi) and Nana (Shishir Sharma). Of course, this is exactly what happens when Asmara befriends her neighbors Farzaan (Kush Jotwani) and Ruksana (Vishakha Pandey) and becomes a local sensation.

Dil Dosti Dilemma: Writing and Direction

The seven-part series is written by Anuradha Tiwari, Bugs Bhargava Krishna, Raghav Dutt, and Manjiri Vijay. The positive lessons of friendship and family in the story are reinforced by dialogue and empathy. But sometimes it’s hard to keep track of the wide range of characters.

Dil Dosti Dilemma:: Cast performance

Sen fits the role of the bubbly Asmara who never gives up. Or someone should let her go. Her best friends the young actresses Pillai and Mayor are slaying in their roles. Most of the young actors in the series are attractive, especially Jotwani and Pandey, who play siblings Farzaan and Ruksana. The cast includes Tanvi Azmi and Shishir Sharma who have done a memorable job of leading the show. The other actors including Shruti Seth, Khalid Siddiqui, Mahesh Thakur, Priyanshu Chatterjee, and Suhasini Mulay got some notable scenes.

Dil Dosti Dilemma Review: Critique

Although the struggle with the true friendship dilemma doesn’t last long, the show’s basic premise of Asmara lying to her best friends about her whereabouts falls by the wayside after the first few episodes. The series then moves on with another plot involving Asmara’s relationship with Tibbri Road and her determination to save her. Additionally, the romantic subplot gains more importance in the second half of the series. It seemed a little old-fashioned because we didn’t know the age of her neighbors, although everyone knew Asmara and her friends were teenagers. “Dil Dosti Dilemma” also ends with unresolved issues, possibly hinting at a new season. If so, it might be worth cutting out other arcs that look a little more similar. Overall, this is family fun that is charming at times. All seven episodes of Dil Dosti Dilemma are now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
